They give Hillary Clinton a 100 vote lead over Barack Obama in the delegate race and then down in the article concede the obvious — such commitments are meaningless. The wild card for the Democrats involves the superdelegates, nearly 800 elected officials and members of the Democratic National Committee. They are free to support any candidate they choose at the national convention, regardless of the outcome of the primaries.

At best Hillary Clinton can only hope that the handful of super-delegates who have committed to her will hold in Denver. News agencies should limit their predictive-statements to delegates that have actually been won, who are committed to specific candidates.
