New Poll: Less Than Half Of Republicans Believe Obama Was Born In U.S.

How subtle are even the best-intentioned media efforts. Here we show a beleaguered Obama, weighed down presumably by the falsity of his opposition, by the palpable hatred that is displayed when one is literally deemed to be Ralph Ellison’s invisible man.

Well, this is half drama that Obama rightfully says NO to. And half indication of a struggle which neither he nor we can avoid.

The struggle has three objects.

1. Not to get submerged in this.

2. Not to allow forces of hate and obfuscation to gain cultural and political power.

3. To accomplish 1 & 2 by achieving the Obama Agenda for health care reform, a green economy and fiscal responsibility. And winning in 2010.

Not easy. But doable. You got a glimmer of doability at last night’s Pete Seeger 90th birthday telecast from MSG.
