I regard Mark’s first chapter as the most important in the New Testament because it contains the original statement of the gospel according to Jesus. Each of the items noted below is a commentary on verses of this chapter.
Mark 1:1 Commentary August 4, 2010
Abba’s Way. Biblical. Mark 1:1. “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”

Mark 1:9 Commentary August 12, 2010
Abba’s Way. Biblical. Mark 1:9. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

Mark 1:10 Commentary August 12, 2010
Abba’s Way. Biblical. Mark 1:10. “And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.” Which means that Jesus had Abba within him.

Mark 1:13 Commentary August 30, 2010
Abba’s Way. Biblical. Mark 1:13 “And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.” Mark 1:13 parses beasts, angels and Satan.
