Digital Services Seek a Captive Consumer – NYTimes.com: “The biggest tech companies are no longer content simply to enhance part of your day. They want to erase the boundaries, do what the other big tech companies are doing and own every waking moment. We can outsmart the Digital Services by such things as knowing how to get free books on a Kindle. If you search for great books you will find them offered for 0 – zero. Of maybe 99 cents. On my Kindle I am working through Shakespeare’s collected works. $0. Heaven will be here when companies stop trying to outsmart us. To the extent they can, we are demeaned.
