New Rain: The Story of Jesus in Song is an extended “folk oratorio” I wrote in the 1970s. It was performed widely in New England and beyond for a few years and then recorded and sold as a 12 inch lp by my company Persephone Music.
The ensemble was led by Alice Spatz, who directed the group and did the arrangements, and her husband Larry Spatz. The others were Irene Vassos, Lois Rose and myself.
I now have the entire group of songs in four segments which can be listened to online. They are taken from the actual recordings. The plural is because all of the songs could not fit on a single record so we added a few to other projects.
