GOP Wants to Subject Us To Oligarchical Rule

Ex-Military and C.I.A. Officers Attack Obama Over Bin Laden Leaks –

Security officials and members of both parties in Congress have sharply criticized leaks about classified operations under Mr. Obama, as well as briefings for reporters on the Bin Laden raid and assistance to filmmakers making a movie about the operation. But the administration has also overseen an unprecedented number of prosecutions for disclosures to the press, and in June, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. directed two United States attorneys to investigate recent leaks discussed in the Opsec video

The GOP is grasping at straws in a sad effort to distract us from their true objective which is the subjection of the American people to oligarchical rule by a government controlled by a compliant Supreme Court a corrupt Congress and a puppet President. Sorry but no thanks.

Steve —

The attacks on President Obama started before he even took office, and they’ve only gotten worse. Republicans, their ideas discredited, their policies responsible for the incredible challenges we face, have stepped up their attacks, spreading misinformation about policy proposals, and even criticizing the President’s date with his wife.

We can’t afford to let up at all. It’s tough, hard fighting in Congress to make progress on getting new jobs, real reform of our health care system, and a new energy economy, and we need everyone to know that Democrats are not going to let up until we get the job done.

I’ve seen first hand how the far right reacts when they see their failed policies challenged. Rush Limbaugh calls for failure, and Republican House leaders back him up. When their attacks start flying, we need to hit them hard.

Stand with President Obama

June 30th marks a critical FEC deadline where both Republicans and Democrats must report how much money they have in the bank. The political pundits, media and the GOP will use these totals as a referendum on support for President Obama, and they’ve already started running ridiculous stories about a GOP “comeback.” We need your help to raise $1 million before June 30th to show the world how committed we are to standing with President Obama and against those who are rooting for him – and America – to fail.

Make your voice heard: Contribute $5, $10 or more by Midnight on June 30th. Congressional Democrats will match every dollar you give with two of their own.*

From our economic recovery, to health care reform, to meeting the climate crisis, to restoring our moral leadership in the world, there is far too much at stake. The amount we raise will be used to judge how committed we are to standing with President Obama and his agenda for change, or whether these Republican attacks are actually starting to work.

That’s why it’s so critical that we make a strong show of support for President Obama before June 30th.

Contribute $5, $10 or more by Midnight on June 30th. Congressional Democrats will match every dollar you give with two of their own to show the world how strongly we support President Obama.*

The power to stand strong against these attacks is in your hands.

Please help us before Midnight on June 30th.

Senator John Kerry

P.S. If there was ever a doubt that the far right intends to go after President Obama with the same dishonorable attacks they used on me, just listen to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich rooting for our President to fail. Contribute by Midnight on June 30th to help us fight back on behalf of President Obama. Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats will match every dollar you give with two of their own.*

Kerry: Afghanistan Equals Vietnam

KERRY: Let me begin with Afghanistan, if I may. I am deeply concerned that, at least thus far, our policy in Afghanistan has kind of been on automatic. And I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would not see all of our conflicts, ground operations in the context of Vietnam. I really try hard. I have an automatic check that says, you know, not everything is that.

But, says Kerry, “I have to tell you, in the several visits I have now made, escape it as I might, the parallels just really keep leaping out in so many different ways.”

To make the two equal, how many parallels do you need?

Were I Barack, I would concentrate military activity on Bin Laden period and do the soft thing elsewhere, ceding as much control as possible to multilateral forces and to the existing, dispersed and problematic governances that exist. Getting Al Queda is the only possible thing that the American people have any stomach for. Seeing Afghanistan as Obama’s War is tying a heavy concrete block to the new President’s leg and suggesting he take a dip.

An Entrepreneur, Not Kerry, for Commerce

I think Barack gave John Kerry the berth he wants when he picked Joe Biden and opened up the chairmanship of Foreign Affairs to the Massachusetts Senator. The best option for Barack is to place a serious new entrepreneur in the Commerce slot to replade Bill Richardson.

John Kerry Hits a Home Run

About | Huff | Obama Diary | TALKING POINTS | Way of Abba | Longevity

John Kerry’s speech in Denver should not fall through the cracks because it may be the best collection of statements that can, if used, win this thing this time around.

Kerry offers a precise description of Barack’s strengths and McCain’s weaknesses. He distinguishes tellingly between the old McCain and candidate McCain. He shows that candidate McCain is nothing but a mesmerized messenger dispensing the poison that is being distributed by his Rovian handlers.

Kerry’s speach touches all the bases and in a convention with many high moments, it should not be lost in the shuffle.

Give it a listen.
