Update 4:09 PM – Google persists in taking considerable work and arbitrarily denying it a Web presence. This is harm. It is wrong. It is unfair. I practice a daily routine in which I forgive all for all the wrongs they have done. It is my interpretation of the Lord’s Prayer that this is what it means to say forgive us as we forgive those who do us harm. I do not relish giving much of my time to creating what I feel is decent content and having it relegated to a dustbin. If this was constant it would be one thing. But it inconsistent. Whimlike. Neronian. I will allow myself this little rant and get back to my routine. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof.
Update 12:32 PM – Remarkable. Yahoo has been been bitten by the Google bully bug. The same pattern of listing I note in the update below is also present on Yahoo. With no original listing. This is getting interesting. Next stop Bing. 12:38 – The same thing. This post is the only way you would be aware of the offerings I have made today. My next step will be to repost all of items below via Ping.fm – each with the proper destination. 12:53 – OK I have figured out the drill. The History Swinging Backwards post below is properly located now. With the this post in second place. The other posts are all slide shows. These are second-class citizens that no one gives much credence to, but they have been my most successful posts of all because they are, in my view, no less “weighty” in their way than prose posts. Google has recently been posting my slideshows. Today it has stopped doing so. I will wait and cogitate on what to do next.
Update: 12:14 PM Thursday ET – This has to be the reductio ad absurdam. When I check to see of the titles below are indexed, the reference to this page pops up under each title. There can be no more obvious proof of Google’s apparent entrapment in its own world that it would make it possible for you to access my articles from where their titles and original links should be posted by searching there and then coming here and clicking on the direct links below. I have been on the Web a lot longer than Google has and this takes the cake.
Google is at it again. In their apparently daily tweaking of their algorithm to ensure that the very best content shows up in their results, they have given no place to anything I have put up today. I am sure they are on Bing and Yahoo. So once again it is Google that taunts a competitor and stokes up the likelihood of an eventual regulatory initiative that will suggest that it is protesting a bit too much.
Unindexed thus far after a week during which indexing has been decent if not perfect.
